Living in Guam is living in paradise.  With the opportunity to enjoy a good balance of work, play, and eat. Guam is a true island paradise.  When you think of paradise, do you think of beautiful white sand, crystal clear ocean, and warm tropical weather?  Well Guam has it all and more.  Not only do we have everything you imagine in an island paradise, but you can actually enjoy it.

Let’s start with work, Guam has a variety of employment opportunities in many service related fields.  But many of the employment opportunities are tourist related or military related.  The major employers in the tourism industry include the airlines, hotels, tour companies, restaurants, and stores; with many of the companies employing a variety of skilled employees.  In the military related work, there is off course the actual military service member, but many private contractors in many fields.  Some of the areas are computer, construction, accounting, and automotive.

When it comes to play, Guam has a good variety of activities to do.  And when it comes to play nothing is impossible.  The beaches and the shops are just minutes from anywhere on Guam.  Even if you work an 8 to 5 job, you have lots of time to enjoy a bit sun, ocean, and sand after work.  One of the best things about life on a small island is you are close to everything!  There is no 2 hour commute on Guam, and there is no heavy traffic on Guam like some parts of the world.  On Guam there is less commute, giving you more time to play.  Whether you enjoy the outdoors, or more of an indoor person, on Guam you will have more time to play.

Living in Guam, you get to enjoy just about every type of authentic ethnic food.  Eat to your heart’s content.  Being a mix of many cultures, Guam is a mix of many countries including, Japan, China, Korean, Filipino, Indian, Thai, and Vietnam to name a few.  Guam is truly a melting pot of good food.  But on the other side of the spectrum, Guam does have some all the fast foods such as McDonald’s, KFC, Burger King, Taco Bell, Wendy’s and more.  There is also the all time American favorite restaurants such as TGI Fridays, Chili’s, Ruby Tuesday, and Hard Rock Café.  Guam is really big on eating, and when you live in Guam, you have to try the local cuisine, Chamorro food.  If you are looking for a quick bite to eat, there is the Chamorro Village, and if you are looking for a nice dine in, there is Meskla and Proa.  And don’t forget the food trucks, they serve some great food you can’t get anywhere else.

Guam may be a spec on the map, but for a spec, there is a whole lot of things to do and to eat.  It is a true island paradise for visitors and residents alike.  But in order to get the full enjoyment, try living in Guam.  You will love the balance of work, play, and eat.
